Those of you that follow the Eurovision song contest and watched it last night probably remember the yellow headed wolves in suits performing the song “Give That Wolf A Banana” with lyrics like: Before that wolf eats my grandma, give that wolf a banana.
That is the music group Subwoolfer and they are Norway’s contribution to the contest this year.
After winning the Norwegian music competition Melody Gran Prix, it was determined that they would represent Norway in Eurovision held in Torino, Italy, this year. They also had to get through the semi-finals to be able to perform yesterday, which they did on Tuesday with flying colours.
Their performance yesterday was energetic and fun and granted them the 10th place in the competition.
The pop music duo was formed only last year, and its two members go by the names Keith and Jim, although their real names have not been publicly revealed. According to them, they started their career 4.5 billion years ago in their home, the Moon. They claim to be the biggest band in the galaxy because they have conquered the music scene on every other planet, only Earth is left.
The name of the duo is a combination of the words: subwoofer and wolf. Subwoofer is a loudspeaker for low-pitched audio.
As the band is new, their discography is simply the Eurovision song Give that Wolf a banana and a slower version of the song, called Give that Wolf a romantic banana. We wait with anticipation to see and hear what comes next from this Norwegian intergalactic band of wolves.
