After more than a decade working in the Icelandic scene, Ingvar got a small role in Kathryn Bigalow’s K-19: The Widowmaker in the year 2002, playing beside Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. After that his partake in international productions have been steadily increasing.
Saying that, it’s also important to bear in mind that in recent years the Icelandic film industry has exploded and a lot more national productions are being shown in movie theatres outside of the island as well as on streaming platforms that are accessible to foreign viewers. Consequently, Icelandic actors are also getting more exposure.
