Singer, songwriter and model Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson, known as Lykke Li, is one of Sweden’s most admired artists. Li was born into a musical family in the town of Ystad, Skåne. Growing up, she and her family moved all around the world. They moved to Stockholm and then to Portugal, even spending time in Morocco. It wasn’t until she was 21 when she returned home to record her first album.
Li’s music career took off in 2007, with the release of her first EP, Little Bit, in which Stereogum later that year proceeded to name her as the artist to watch. Her music incorporates elements from indie pop, dream pop and electronic. Since then, she has released 6 albums and/or EPs which have gained immense popularity.
Over the span of her career, Li has been nominated for over 30 different awards and has since won 6 of those. Not only has Li been successful in the music industry but has also taken part in modelling and film.
As of 2010, she is the official face of the Levi’s Curve ID collection and was later signed with VIVA Model Management Agency. Additionally, she has started her acting career in 2014 by participating in the Swedish film Tommy and also appeared later in Song to Song.
